DISCOVER YOUR “HAVES”

Before you add anything new, discover what already works.

YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT’S MISSING.

NOW LET’S DISCOVER WHAT’S WORKING.

Your wardrobe is full of information.

The pieces you reach for again and again. The outfits that somehow always feel right. The colours you instinctively combine. The fabrics you love wearing. The shapes that make getting dressed feel easy.

These are your Haves.

Not simply the clothes you own.

The clothes that work for you.

And that’s where we’re going to start.

01 — FIND YOUR FAVOURITES

Go back to the clothes you identified as the ones your body loves.

But this time, look for the pieces you choose without hesitation.

The shirt you know will work.

The trousers you can wear all day.

The jacket that seems to make everything look better.

The dress you always feel good in.

You don’t need to choose perfectly.

Start with five or six pieces that you naturally reach for.

Then ask:

What is it about these pieces that makes me choose them?

The fabric?

The fit?

The colour?

The neckline?

The length?

The way they move?

The way they make you feel?

Your favourites are giving you clues.

02 — LOOK AT WHAT YOU WEAR TOGETHER

Now look at those favourite pieces together.

What combinations do you naturally create?

Perhaps one pair of trousers works with several favourite tops.

Maybe one jacket seems to work with almost everything.

Perhaps you keep returning to the same small group of colours.

Which pieces work with the greatest number of other things?

Which combinations do you reach for again and again?

These are your winning combinations.

03 — DISCOVER WHAT MAKES THEM WORK

Now look at your favourite pieces and combinations as a group.

What do they have in common?

You might notice:

Fabrics I love:

Linen, cotton, soft knits…

Shapes I reach for:

Relaxed trousers, open shirts, simple dresses…

Necklines I enjoy:

V-necks, open collars…

Colours I naturally combine:

Soft white, denim, duck-egg blue, mushroom…

Details that make a difference:

Rolled sleeves, simple buttons, interesting texture…

Things that make a garment easy to live with:

Comfortable when sitting, easy care, works with several outfits…

Your list will be different from everyone else’s.

And that’s exactly how it should be.

BUILD YOUR PERSONAL “HAVE” LIST

Think of this as your own little wardrobe reference.

I know I love…

The colours I reach for: ______

The fabrics I enjoy wearing: ______

The necklines I feel comfortable in: ______

The sleeve lengths that work for me: ______

The silhouettes I naturally choose: ______

The pieces I wear most often: ______

The combinations that always work: ______

The details that make a garment feel like me: ______

The things I don’t want to compromise on: ______

Keep this list somewhere you can return to.

When you find something new, you can simply ask:

Does this look like one of my Haves?.

FROM HAVES TO CHOICES

You now have something more valuable than a list of clothes.

You have a better understanding of why certain clothes work for you.

Your Haves aren’t rules.

They’re your starting point.

There should always be room for something unexpected — a colour you haven’t tried, a shape that surprises you, or a fabric you discover you love.

COLOUR

Because sometimes the difference between a garment you wear constantly and one that stays in the wardrobe has very little to do with the garment itself.

It can simply be the colour.

That’s where we go next….
