A JOURNAL OF A LIFE STILL BEING LIVED

Some of these stories will make you laugh.

Others might make you stop for a moment and think.

A few are simply observations that found their way onto paper because I didn’t want to forget them.

You’ll find stories from hospital operating theatres and life aboard Onyx, reflections on style, travel, creativity, growing older, remarkable people I’ve met and the quiet moments that often become the ones we remember most.

I certainly don’t have all the answers.

These are simply my thoughts, memories and moments gathered along the way.

I hope that somewhere amongst them, you find a little of your own story too

Welcome to my journal.

WHERE SHALL WE BEGIN?

YOU NEVER FORGET YOUR FIRST

I’d always imagined seeing the Statue of Liberty from a crowded ferry. I never imagined my first glimpse would be from the deck of our own yacht.

THE BIRTH I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER

It was my first Caesarean section. Looking back, I realise it wasn’t just another day at work.

HOURS OF SILENCE

For four hours the crocodile never moved.

Neither did we.

HAVE I RUINED SHOPPING FOR MYSELF

I’ve been writing about shopping with intention for Silver Wave by Design. But a recent trip in Fiji has me wondering whether i’ll ever shop the same way again — and what will happen when Sandra arrives?

BERRY CRÊPE NIGHT

Sometimes the simplest evenings become the ones we remember forever.

WHAT IF YOUR NEXT CHAPTER IS THE MOST INTERESTING ONE

What if getting older isn’t about looking back at the life you’ve lived, but wondering what might still be waiting for you?

Let’s catch up again soon,
